Summer Skin Care Tips
Four Summer Skin Care Tips
Summer is the best time to show skin. Shorts, dresses, and skirts become staples in a woman’s wardrobe and she is not afraid to experiment with colorful makeup since bright colors are in season. With the desire to experiment with makeup, we oftentimes neglect our skin and may not take necessary precautions to ensure our skin’s health. This neglect paired with constant contact with the summer sun can be extremely damaging to skin. Have no fear, I’ve compiled 4 simple tips that’ll make you glow and ensure that you get your skin in the best shape it’s ever been in.
1. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!
This should be a step that you’re already taking for both your face and body. The sun can not only dry your skin out, but burn it as well. Your facial moisturizer and/or makeup should include SPF 15 or higher since the skin on your face is exposed to the sun the most. If you’re worried about getting too oily, consider a mattifying moisture lotion.
2. Use sunscreen
All natural shea butter is an ideal product to have because it moisturizes and protects skin from the sun. Another perk is that it can be used all over. Regular sunblock is a great option too. If the traditional lotion is too thick for you or you feel like you don’t have time to apply it, consider using a sunblock spray.
3. Exfoliate once per week
It's important to exfoliate because your body sheds skin cells every day. If you don't get rid of them, they'll remain on your skin and make it look dry. Opt for a gentle scrub for your face and a more grainy one for the body. This step will lead to soft, glowing skin.
4. Drink tons of water.
Last but not least, drink water as often as possible. Water plays a huge role in keeping skin hydrated so even though lemonade and other fruity summer beverages will be on your radar this season, don’t forget about dear old H2O. Drinking water can help clear up skin and cause it to glow.
